Primary Care Physician (Internal Medicine or Family Medicine)

Responsibilities
Physician shall provide all appropriate general Internal Medicine or Family care within the scope of the physician's specialty and license, including but not limited to: - Maintain the standard of care for the delivery of primary care medicine services: - Meet all DNV and other regulatory requirements; - Obtain complete history and record findings in a systematic format; - Perform complete physical assessments; - Order, perform and interpret routine laboratory tests; - Order medications, referrals and or medical devices as needed; - Ensure that appropriate preventative medicine testing is conducted on a routine basis; - Participate with all quality improvement and assurance initiatives; - Conduct appropriate follow up to ensure appropriate levels of patient care; - Serve as practice site administrator during emergencies. - Provide night and weekend call/triage coverage. - Market the practice through direct physician to physician communication, community education, community service or other appropriate channels; - Maintain and implement standards for health promotion and health maintenance; - Follow current state, federal and local laws governing the delivery of care; - Provide open and timely communication with patients, families and their significant others; - Ensure that appearance and personal conduct are professional at all times; - Accept and care as applicable for indigent and clinic patients in a manner consistent with compassionate and ethical patient care. - Accept all managed care plans accepted by Employer; - Demonstrate knowledge of current coding guidelines and requirements and maintain an error rate within hospital guidelines (currently 5% or less); - Complete required reporting in a timely manner, such as medical records. - If conducting hospital rounds, ensure accurate and timely billing for hospital services; - Submit all bills for outpatient and inpatient work in a timely manner to the Department of Physician Practice Management Support; - Use and endorse the use of all of Hospital's automated systems, as appropriate; - Physician shall participate in community education and scientific programs as may be delegated or assigned to the Physician by Chairperson/ leadership and/or the Hospital’s President. - Additional duties as assigned by Chairperson/Chief Medical Officer or CEO.
