Per Diem Psychiatrist

Responsibilities
- Provide psychiatric evaluations and consultations in the Emergency Department as part of the Psychiatric Emergency Service/Designated Screening Center. - Maintain necessary and appropriate documentation for all services provided in compliance with regulatory and hospital policies. - Provide on-call and/or clinic coverage as requested by the Department Chairperson. - Provide education to patients and their families related to medication and treatment options prescribed. - Provide consultative and advisory services to clinicians as requested. - Provide coverage for the in-patient psychiatrist as needed. - Participating in assigned committees’ activities such as Performance Improvement and peer review as requested. - Participate actively in education of students and residents. - Participate in scholarly activity and research as needed or assigned. - Other related duties as assigned.
