Provides advanced life support (ALS) assessment, treatment, and emergency medical care to critically ill and injured patients across the lifespan in the prehospital environment. Care is provided in accordance with New Jersey Department of Health regulations, approved medical protocols, medical direction, and St. Joseph’s Health policies and procedures. 
Performs advanced patient assessment, cardiac monitoring and interpretation, medication administration, vascular access, airway and ventilatory management, and other authorized advanced life support interventions. Works collaboratively with EMS, public safety, hospital, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, timely, evidence-based, and patient-centered care and effective transition of care.

Qualifications
* Minimum Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in a health-related or applicable field. * Current and unrestricted New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) certification or licensure, as applicable. * Out-of-state paramedic applicants: Must hold a current and unrestricted paramedic license/certification and meet all New Jersey Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS) requirements for paramedic reciprocity. Eligible candidates may be sponsored by St. Joseph’s Health to obtain New Jersey Mobile Intensive Care Paramedic (MICP) licensure and must successfully complete all OEMS reciprocity and licensure requirements as a condition of employment. * Minimum of one year of active prehospital experience practicing as a paramedic preferred. * National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification preferred. * Working knowledge of applicable New Jersey EMS regulations and clinical practice guidelines, including N.J.A.C. 8:41 and 8:41A, as applicable. * Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required. * FEMA/NIMS ICS-100, ICS-200, and IS-700 certifications required. * PHTLS, ITLS, or equivalent approved trauma certification required within six months of hire. * Valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving record in accordance with organizational policy. * CEVO, EVOC, or equivalent approved emergency vehicle operations training required within six months of hire. * Must maintain all required certifications, credentials, competencies, continuing education, and regulatory requirements established by the New Jersey Department of Health and St. Joseph’s Health.
