Read MoreCounseling and case management services for individuals within the department of Behavioral Health. Counseling techniques are utilized to engage clients in treatment. Assessment and treatment planning are utilized to help clients reach personal goals. Clients are assisted in obtaining entitlements and linkages to other community resources/services. Outreach activities to clients who are ambivalent about services or who miss appointments.
Qualifications
Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Psychiatric Rehabilitation or mental health related discipline. Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred. Licensure preferred as a Certified Social Worker (CSW) by the State of New Jersey. Work requires the ability to counsel and educate consumers and their families and to resolve problems that require the use of basic mental health knowledge. Valid driver’s license with no pending violations and an acceptable driving record as stipulated by SJH policy and, if applicable, the SJH insurance carrier, for those required to drive a hospital vehicle.

Pay transparency: St. Joseph’s Health provides a salary range to comply with New Jersey Law. The rate of pay for each position will be determined based on a variety of factors including the candidate's relevant experience, qualifications, skills, etc.” The salary range does not include incentives, differential pay or other forms of compensation.
Organization
St. Joseph’s University Medical Center is an academic tertiary care medical center and state designated trauma center, located on the Paterson campus, regularly accepts referrals of difficult or unusual cases from other hospitals and physicians and performs both complex and routine procedures.
The Medical Center offers a full complement of specialty and subspecialty services including ambulatory, behavioral health, cardiovascular, emergency/trauma, internal medicine, neuroscience, oncology, orthopedic/spine, rehabilitation, surgical specialty, women’s health, imaging and pediatrics.
