Associate Radiology Records

Supports the results interpretation and reporting functions within the Department of Radiology, through the following: Performs QA reviews of preliminary dictation when requested in order to ensure accuracy; Liaisons with IT Department to ensure thoroughness of radiology report posting across all systems;. Performs at established intervals random QA for accuracy of patient results and initiates an addendum process when needed; Serves as a resource for internal and external customers by assisting with copying medical records including CD burning, faxing, and legal requests as needed. Serves as back-up support when needed to other clerical areas within the radiology department including front desk, scheduling, etc. Answers phones and follows up promptly with appropriate staff member to resolve requests and/or issues. Detail oriented, Effective communicator, embracing excellence at all times.

Qualifications
Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent and one to two years of previous work related experience plus three to six months of on the job training and orientation. Requires the ability to read and understand instructions, add and subtract numbers, and make comparisons between numbers and letters. Ability to listen to audio and transcribe medical reports accurately demonstrating proficiency in both medical terminology and grammar. Understanding of the medicolegal implications and responsibilities of the healthcare record, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal rules and regulations, along with security standards and privacy practices.
