Currently, during the COVID-19 public health emergency, we have temporarily expanded our child care program to assist parents of school age children (ages 5-13) who require assistance with online learning during the school day. We are open from 6:30 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, 52 weeks a year, closing only for major St. Joseph’s holidays. We are conveniently located across from St. Joseph’s Health at 800 Main Street in Paterson, NJ 07503. The Child Care Center at St. Joseph’s Health provides a supplement to the nurturing and early education process of young children initiated and enacted by the parent or caregiver. Our program provides continuous learning opportunities and choices, appropriate to the early stages of development, for discovering life’s simple mysteries through trial and error, where success enhances curiosity and unsuccessful attempts serve to further learning. Children are afforded opportunities to create, explore their environment and learn: problem solving skills, personal interaction skills, and concepts through hands-on experiences. Our staff creates an enriched environment and interacts in timely appropriate communications with the children, thereby enabling them to make optimum use of the learning opportunities at hand. We support all areas of development including physical, social, emotional and cognitive, ensuring every child meets his or her full potential.
The Child Care Center at St. Joseph’s Health, nurtures its learners so children develop trust, pursue autonomy and grow in ingenuity and love. Children leave fully prepared to meet the complex demands presented to them upon entering Kindergarten.
