Job Overview

Responsible for drawing intravenous and capillary blood samples from infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in both in-patient and out-patients settings. Performs electrocardiograms on infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric patients. Responsible for therapeutic phlebotomy from infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients in an out-patient setting. Ensures accurate patient and specimen identification in all required documentation and labeling. Accurately enters laboratory test requests into required computer information systems, faxing laboratory reports as needed, and answering telephone and directing calls as appropriate.

Qualifications

Work requires a High School diploma or equivalent.
EKG training or prior experience is not something that is actually required, although it is a plus.
Additional Certification of completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred.
