Read MoreThe Executive Director of Operations, Acute Care Services, will have responsibility to support all acute care services and functions in the organization. The role will report to the VP of this area and have oversight over the individual departments. The role ensures delivery of high-quality, patient centered care in alignment with regulatory standards and organizational goals. The Executive Director will support the acute care services strategic, operational, and financial needs. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that resources match demand. The Executive Director will ensure throughput is optimized, ED boarding is minimized, and LOS is as efficient as possible. This individual does not have line responsibility for the individual departments.
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited medical school. Post-graduate training in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine. Minimum of 4 years of progressive physician leadership experience in hospital or acute care operations. Minimum 8 years of clinical experience and leadership. Board certification in Emergency Medicine or Internal Medicine. Licensed to practice medicine in New Jersey. Knowledge of regulatory standards including TJC, DNV, CMS, and state regulatory departments are helpful. The individual should have excellent communication skills, problem solving ability, excellent people management skills, and the ability to confront challenges. The Director should be motivated to drive change and ensure excellence in the organization. Understanding of all sites and levels of acute care including ED, ICU, inpatient, and outpatient units required. Understand staffing requirements, hours of care per patient day, and the use of temporary labor. Knowledgeable about data needs and support, specifically with admission, discharge, and transfer data.
