Job Overview

Responsible for performing diagnostic imaging exams, preparation, and administration of recommended adjunct radiopharmaceuticals either an inpatient and/or outpatient setting in accordance with established protocols for positioning, image quality, radiation safety, and MRI safety. Utilizes a variety of specialized equipment to produce diagnostic images including handling radioactive materials to produce diagnostic images, as well as computers and various software programs to enter patient related information into hospital databases. Contributes to the overall excellence of the department through commitment to personal excellence in technical and interpersonal skills.


Work requires the level of knowledge normally acquired through completion of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine. ARRT in Nuclear Medicine (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or NMTCB ( Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board) required within twelve months of working in that modality. State of New Jersey licensure in Radiology Technology is required. Certification for Basic Life Support (BLS) granted through the American Heart Association is required within 12 months of hire. IV certification granted through the hospital education department is required within 12 month of hire. Requires the analytical ability to resolve problems that require the use of basic specific, mathematical, or technical principles and in depth experience based knowledge. Requires the ability to explain clinical, technical, and diagnostic procedures to patients and their families.
