Job Overview

The Clinician LCSW position for St. Joseph’s Health/ACCESS Outpatient Services provides services to individuals who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in New Jersey. Services include, but are not limited to: clinical assessments; psychotherapy; treatment planning; crisis intervention; psychoeducation; referral and advocacy. The population of individuals we serve may come from diverse cultural backgrounds. Clinical, language and communication needs are varied as well.


  • Work requires the knowledge of theories, principles, and concepts normally acquired through completion of a Master’s degree in social work, psychology or closely related field.
  • Bi-lingual ASL in required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus.
  • Licensure required commensurate to degree as required by the State of New Jersey.
  • Work requires the ability to prepare detailed assessments of patient referrals, counseling individual, group or family members, or perform other duties requiring a comparable level of communication skill.
  • Proficiency of Microsoft Office.
  • ACCESS program only: Valid driver’s license required, as well as compliance with Qualifications to Drive a System Vehicle as well as all policies as outlined in the SJHS Fleet Management & Safety Program.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in American Sign Language, familiarity with Deaf Culture and be knowledgeable about current technology in use for individuals with hearing loss.
  • Harbor House only: Valid driver’s license preferred, compliance with Qualifications to Drive a System Vehicle as well as all policies as outlined in the SJHS Fleet Management & Safety Program.
